OEL Ju Jitsu is part of Jikishin Ju Jitsu Association. This means that OEL follows the Jikishin syllabus.

All clubs within Jikishin must also follow this syllabus, therefore allowing for large events such as the large annual Jikishin Courses & Competitions, usually at Southend, Essex.

With everyone having done the same or very similar training, such events are a huge success.

The coloured belts often associated with martial arts are a measure of technical ability and finesse as a martial artist.

Contrary to popular belief, Black Belt is not the end of your training. Instead, it is the beginning of a new stage as a senior martial artist. But that is not to say that everything up to Black Belt is a waste of time.

The Kyu Grades will teach you everything you need to know in preperation for your Black Belt and the leap up into the ranks of the Dan Grades.

Junior grades are subject to change according to the individual Club Senseis. They may choose to break the belts down into more managable sections so that juniors can see their progression better.
